New Delhi: India recorded 2.51 lakh new COVID infections in the last 24 hours on Friday, thereby dropping by 12 per cent compared to Thursday.
The positivity rate also dropped from 19.59% to 15.88% while the weekly positivity rate was at 17.47 per cent.
The active cases now are 5.18 per cent of the total infections, while the COVID-19 recovery rate has dipped to 93.60 per cent nationally. AS many as 400 districts have reported more than 10 per cent positivity rate in the week ending January 26.
A total of 627 fatalities have been caused due to COVID during the past 24-hour period, the Health Ministry said.
