Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of 6th International Day of Yoga, several leaders and other personalities took to social media to share their views on this ancient Indian system to keep one physically and mentally fit. Here’s what some of the said:
‘Keep The Body Fit & Mind Serene’
President Ram Nath Kovind suggested that practicing Yoga “can help keep the body fit and mind serene”.
Referring to Yoga as India’s greatest gift to the world, the President tweeted: “Glad to see more and more people adopting it. Amid stress and strife, especially with Covid-19, practising Yoga can help keep the body fit and mind serene.”
‘Divine Gift Of Bharat’
Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal referred to Yoga as a divine gift of Bharat to human civilization. “Yoga is a union of human consciousness with super consciousness, a divine gift of Bharat to the human civilization,” the Governor tweeted on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
‘Yoga At Home’
Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand art at Puri beach to promote “Yoga At Home” as the whole world is grappling with the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we stay home with family during the pandemic to contain the spread of #COVID19 pandemic, #yoga is one of the best possible ways to boost our immunity,” he tweeted while sharing a photo of his sand art.
‘Biggest Health Movement’
Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik said that International Day of Yoga (IDY) has turned into the biggest public health movement. “Now every country of the world celebrates IDY and the public has embraced this event and adopting it as a celebration of India’s culture and tradition,” Naik said in a release.
