Tokyo: India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu beat China’s He Bing Jiao to win bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.
Sindhu defeated Jiao in straight sets 21-13, 21-15 to create history in the Olympics. She became the first Indian woman athlete to bag consecutive medals in individual event in the Olympics. She had won silver medal in Rio Olympics in 2016.
On Saturday, Sindhu lost to World number one Tai Tzu-Ying of the Chinese Taipei in a close contest by 21-18, 21-12.
With Sindhu’s victory, India has taken its medal tally to 2 in Tokyo. Earlier, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu bagged silver medal in the Games.
