London: Over 150 women’s Test matches have been played since the first game between Australia and England was held at Brisbane in December 1934.

However, the iconic Lord’s cricket ground in London had never hosted a women’s Test. Till July 10, 2026, when Harmanpreet Kaur and England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt walked out to the hallowed turf for the toss.

And on Day 3 of the historic Test, India’s wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia earned the distinction of becoming the first female cricketer to score a 100 at Lord’s, thereby having her name etched on the prestigious honours board.

The 25-year-old Yastika, from Vadodara, made a delightful 113 off 158 balls, studded with 14 fours, in India’s second innings after scoring 12 in the first.

Yastika, who batted at No. 3, reached his century with a single soon after lunch on Sunday.

Another Indian youngster, pacer Kranti Gaud, achieved a memorable feat on the second day by becoming the first woman to bag a five-wicket haul in a Lord’s Test match. The 22-year-old Kranti from MP’s Chhindwara registered figures of 5/37 to bowl out England for 170 in the first innings.

The women in blue are in pole position to force a win as they have piled up 298/6 so far after gaining a first-innings lead of 115 runs.
