Hyderabad: A 29-year-old IndiGo Passenger was recently arrested after an alleged attempt to open the door of a Hyderabad-bound flight mid-air.

The incident took place on Tuesday.

According to sources, the man started behaving in an unusually manner soon after the flight took off from Indore and he was then shifted to a different seat. But he insisted on sitting next to his two friends with whom he had travelled to Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain. When the flight was about to land, the passenger tried to open the plane’s door but was stopped by the staff and co-passengers.

The passenger, from Chandragirinagar in Hyderabad’s Gajularamaram, had allegedly consumed ‘bhang’ before boarding the flight, PTI reported quoting police sources.

After the flight landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, the airline staff lodged a police complaint against the passenger following which a case was registered against him and he was arrested.

He, however, was later granted bail on the basis of medical reports, claiming he was suffering from health issues.
