New Delhi: A passenger travelling from Bengaluru to Bhopal in an Indigo flight recently was reportedly shocked to find that cushions were missing on two seats.
The passenger, named Yavanika Raj Shah, later shared about the incident on her X handle with a sarcastic remark. She also added a picture of the cushion less seats in the aircraft. The incident quickly caught the attention of people after Shah shared her experience on X.
“Beautiful @IndiGo6E — I do hope I land safely! This is your flight from Bengaluru to Bhopal 6E 6465,” Yavanika wrote. She also shared pictures of the cushion less seats with the post.
After the post went viral, the airline also responded to it. IndiGo addressed Shah’s concerns directly on the social media platform. The airline explained that the missing seat cushions were part of a standard cleaning procedure. Before the flight’s departure, the cushions had been removed for cleaning purposes, a practice IndiGo described as routine during transit whenever necessary.
The airline assured that their cabin crew had promptly informed passengers affected by this, including Shah, about the temporary absence of the cushions.
“Ma’am, thank you for speaking with us. The seat cushions were replaced prior to the flight for cleaning purposes. Our cabin crew promptly informed the customers who were allotted these seats. This is a standard practice for cleaning during transit as and when required. We are committed to providing the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to our customers,” they wrote.
