Bhawanipatna: Panic gripped people of Pandi village in Kalahandi district as water of the Indravati dam entered the village following a breach in the right canal embankment late on Wednesday.
According to reports, water entered the village following a small breach in the main right canal embankment near the village at around 1 am. Later, the breach widened to about 20 feet early in the morning.
Following information, a team of engineers of the water resources department and the dam rushed to the spot this morning. Till reports last came in, repair of the breach is underway on a war-footing.
