Bhubaneswar: Barbil police arrested industrialist and owner of Pooja
Sponge Iron Kabit Agarwal for his alleged failure in paying dues to
the tune of Rs 75 lakh to SN Mohanty Mines.
According to a complaint lodged by the owner of SN Mohanty Mines at
Barbil police station, Agarwal had brought iron ore worth Rs 1.14
crore from the company in 2007-08 on credit basis. However, Kabit
managed to pay Rs 39 lakh to the complainant after the case was lodged
in 2013, but the rest amount was due on him despite several reminders.
Acting on the complaint, a police team raided Agarwal’s house located at
Rourkela and arrested him late on Sunday night.
The accused has been forwarded to court, police sources said.
