Cuttack: The number of infected Kumbh Mela returnees rose to 14 on Wednesday after a saint, who had arrived in Cuttack city from Haridwar, tested positive for COVID-19.
This was informed by Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
On Tuesday, 13 visitors to Haridwar had tested positive for the deadly virus on their arrival at the Cuttack railway station.
The city had reported 110 fresh infections, taking the active cases to 827.
Meanwhile, the CMC has decided to shut all religious institutions for the public from Wednesday, considering the surge in new cases in the city.
