Cuttack: The COVID-19 positive cases due to local contacts continued to remain high in the city on Thursday when 112 new cases were detected.
Of the fresh cases, 28 were reported from institutional quarantine centres and 31 from home quarantine, while 53 were local contacts, according to Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
Of home quarantine cases, 6 were from Sikharpur, 5 from Chauliaganj and 3 each from Bidanasi, Nayabazar, Jagatpur and Chahata Nagar.
Among the local contacts, 8 belonged to Jagatpur, 6 to CDA, 5 to Nayabazar and 4 to Nuapada.
With the day’s addition, the total COVID-19 positive cases have gone up to 13,863. While 12,930 patients have recovered, 61 have succumbed to the disease. There are 872 active cases in the city at present.
