Bhubaneswar: With Dussehra festivities gripping Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has issued an advisory to the people for safety of their properties.
Speaking to media persons in the city on Friday, Girija Chakrabarty, ACP, Zone 2 of the Commissionerate, said there was a possibility of miscreants and thieves taking advantage of people going out for celebration and looting the houses.
“In order to prevent such a situation and keep their valuable properties safe in the house, the people should properly lock up their houses before leaving. Besides, they should inform their neighbours and the local police station,” the ACP said.
Assuring the people of taking all possible steps to protect their properties during festivities, Chakrabarty said if police are informed about absence of the people, the PCR van can make frequent patrolling in their area so that the miscreants would not dare commit any crime.
