Infrastructure Work At Puri Station To Affect Train Services For 2 Months; Check Complete List



Bhubaneswar: In a move to enhance passenger amenities and improve operational efficiency, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced infrastructure upgradation project at Puri Railway Station.

The project includes the construction of a ballastless track in the station yard along with the development of Platforms No. 7 and 8, ECoR said in a press release on Saturday.

To facilitate the execution of these essential works, several train services will be temporarily short-terminated or short-originated at nearby stations between March 11 and May 16, 2026.

During this period, several trains will be short-terminated at Sakhigopal Railway Station on selected dates. These include the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Puri Express (12145), Gandhidham–Puri Express (12993), Kamakhya–Puri Express (15644), Gandhidham–Puri Express (22973), Tirupati–Puri Express (17480), Sealdah–Puri Duronto Express (22201), Valsadâ

€“Puri Express (22909) and the Sambalpur–Puri Intercity Express (18303). Correspondingly, their return services will originate from Sakhigopal on designated dates during the same period.

Similarly, certain trains will be short-terminated at Bir Purushottampur Railway Station. These include the Indore–Puri Express (20917), Sri Ganganagar–Puri Express (20471), Kamakhya–Puri Express (15640) and the Jaleswar–Puri MEMU (68441). Their return services will originate from Bir Purushottampur on scheduled dates.

Some services will also be regulated at Khurda Road Junction. The Rourkela–Puri Express (18125) and Talcher–Puri MEMU (68413) will terminate at Khurda Road during the affected period, while the return services will originate from the same station.

This apart, the Howrah–Puri Express (12837) will be short-terminated at Malatipatpur Railway Station, and its return service, Puri–Howrah Express (12838), will originate from Malatipatpur.
To ensure passenger convenience, railway authorities have arranged bus services between the short-terminated or short-originated stations and Puri for bona fide passengers.

The ECoR has advised passengers to check the latest status of their trains through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or railway enquiry services before commencing their journey.
