Bhubaneswar: Expressing grave concern over the unlawful activities by
some unscrupulous petrol pump owners, Director General of Police (DGP)
Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma on Friday asked all the SPs and DCPs to
initiate criminal proceedings against those practicing the same.
Stressing on the need to ensure that consumers obtained accurate
quantities of petrol, the DGP ordered a crackdown on those involved in
adulteration of petrol by conducting surprise raids at different
petrol pumps in coordination with civil supply and weight and measures
departments.
Sharma also directed the senior police officers to ensure that petrol
pumps were not using electronic chips or any other means to cheat
consumers
