Buguda: The inmates of a quarantine centre have extended financial help to the family of a migrant worker who died while returning home from Gujarat.
According to sources, Daktar Duhudi of Mangarajpur under Buguda block of Ganjam district was working in Surat, Gujarat. After lockdown was imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic, he was hospitalised as he suffered neurological problem. While he was being brought to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar in an ambulance, he succumbed near Maharashtra border.
Duhudi’s wife is a housewife while his 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son are anaemic. Both the children need blood transfusion every three months.

Similarly, the people of other villages in Buguda block have also donated an unspecified mount to the bank account of Duhudi’s wife. The villagers have appealed to the state government to extend financial relief and rehabilitate the bereaved family.
