Kanpur: Crimes against women show no signs of abating in our country.
In the latest horror story, a 16-year-old daughter of a doctor couple was allegedly raped by her Instagram friend.
The culprit, identified as Vinay Thakur, allegedly spiked the 16-year-old girl’s cold drink at a hookah bar before pouncing on her. He has been arrested.
The girl’s father has filed a case against Vinay, who is also from Kanpur, and seven others.
As per the complaint, Thakur invited the girl to MG Cafe in Karrahi area on March 4, where they smoked hookah. Vinay put some sedative in the girl’s drink, took her out and raped her. He allegedly took the girl to another deserted place where seven of his friends joined him, and they tried to gang-rape her.
When the girl resisted the assault, the accused bit her all over her body. After the girl somehow managed to get home and narrate her ordeal, her father wasted no time in filing a police complaint.
The girl informed her father that her Instagram acquaintance had made an obscene video of her and was threatening to make it viral for the past few days.
Local media reported that the parents informed police that Vinay had earlier carved his name on the girl’s chest with a blade.
The girl was preparing for engineering entrance examinations in Rajasthan’s Kota. Vinay travelled there, too, and beat her up in a hotel room, the parents alleged.
