New York: Instagram is set to add an interesting feature soon.
The Facebook (now Meta) owned platform is in the process of testing a feature that will allow Instagram users take a break from scrolling through the feed. A reminder will pop up on the screen after users have spent a long time on the platform.
The feature, being tested with a limited set of users, could be released sometime in December.
Users who opt for this feature, will be encouraged to take a break from the platform after spending a certain amount of time on the app in three time-span options of 10, 20, and 30 minutes. Or else, users can select the ‘Off’ option to disable the feature.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri informed that they have worked with third-party experts to take advice and tips on how the feature could work. Some of the suggestions while taking a break from Instagram include taking deep breaths, writing down thoughts, listening to favourite song, or doing something from to-do lists.
Mosseri explained that the feature is part of a broader effort to give people control over their Instagram experience by providing tools for users.
