Puri: The sevayats of Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri will get health insurance coverage.
New India Assurance has been appointed to provide health insurance for all sevayats of Jagannath temple.
This was decided at a meeting chaired by Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA), Dr Krishan Kumar.
Further, an additional cover of Rs 3 lakh, up to 25 persons, will be provided under the scheme for treatment of cancer and kidney transplantation.
Meanwhile, COVID Care Centre has been made operational at Niladri Bhakt Niwas. So far, more than 50 persons associated with the temple including sevayats have tested positive for COVID.
