New Delhi: The Delhi Police has said that its officials have received inputs about a conspiracy to cut electricity across the national capital on January 25 and 26, India Today reported.
According to the intelligence input, pro-Khalistani groups like US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) may be conspiring a complete power cut on Republic Day and a day before.
The SFJ has threatened to cut electricity supply on both days, the police were quoted as saying.
According to police, the private power-generaitng firm, BSES, was also getting similar information about disruption in power supply in Delhi.
Police suspect that discoms, power grids and power sub-stations can be targeted in Delhi on the two days.
After receiving the information, the Delhi Police has beefed up security at power sub-stations in the national capital, the report added.
