Bhubaneswar: Intense cold wave has disrupted normal life in most parts of Odisha with drastic fall in night temperature.
As per a Met office release here this evening, Kandhamal recorded the lowest temperature at 3.5 degrees Celsius while temperature came down to below 10 degree Celsius in 12 places at Angul (8.6), Jharsuguda (8.6), Keonjhar (7.9), Sambalpur (9.5), Sundargarh (7.9), Hirakud (8.2), Bhawanipatna (8.5), Bolangir (9), Koraput (8.8), Sonepur (9.8), Daringbadi (8.5)and Dhenkanal (9.6).
Besides, mercury recorded a sharp fall in the coastal areas in Balasore (10.5), Chandbali (11.6), Paradip (14) Gopalpur (13.7) and Puri (14.4) while Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 11 and 11.4 degree Celsius respectively.
The release further said that the cold wave condition would continue till next week up to January 27.
