Besides, the temperature remained under 12 degree Celsius at Chandbali (11.6), Cuttack (10.2), Baripada (11), Hirakud (10.1), Talcher (10.3) and Malkangiri (10).

Bhubaneswar at 11.3 degree Celsius also recorded a further fall in the night temperature by almost 3 degrees.

Informing the media here, duty officer of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Ramesh Chandra Gartia said that the intense cold wave condition will prevail for six days till January 17.

“With no trough line over Odisha and the further weakening of the cyclonic circulation formed over north Bihar and neighbourhood, the condition is now favourable for the blowing of the cold wind from the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal across Odisha. This will result in the further fall in the night temperature by 3-50C,” he said.
