Bhubaneswar: Intense spell of rain coupled with lightning and gusty wind is likely to lash at least 18 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack City, on Monday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 1.30 pm, the IMD sounded orange warning for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kndhamal, Boudh, Nuapada, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack (including Cuttack city) in next two to three hours.
Moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind, lightning and moderate to intense spell of rain may occur in these districts during the period.
In another nowcast warming at 1.45 pm, the IMD issued yellow alert of light to moderate rain or thundershower with lightning for Khurda district (including Bhubaneswar city) in next three hours.
