Bhubaneswar: With the Deep Depression over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal expected to cross Odisha coast near Puri by noon on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for 17 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 1.10 pm.
Moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells of rain may occur in some parts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada, Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts.
Yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning has been issued for Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, and Balangir.

People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
