Bhubaneswar: Amid the heavy rain warning for Odisha till August 25, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday forecast moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells in 7 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack, till 6 pm.
The orange warning has been sounded for some places in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Balangir, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Sundargarh. The weather agency has also warned of waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas.
Yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower has also been issued for some parts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Rayagada, Koraput, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore during the next 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
