Bhubaneswar: Intense rain coupled with thundershower and lightning is likely to lash 14 districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, on Wednesday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
The weather agency sounded an orange alert while issuing the nowcast warning at 4.30 pm.
It said moderate to intense rain, thundershower and lightning may affect some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Ganjam, Puri, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Koraput, Balangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Boudh within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
