Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issues nowcast warning of rain, thundershower and lightning for eleven districts of Odisha by 7.30 pm on Saturday.
Orange warning was issued for state capital Bhubaneswar and the millennium city of Cuttack by the IMD which forecast moderate rain/ thundershower with lightning and one or two intense spells of rain within next three hours. Districts of Cuttack, Khurda, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Bhadrak will be affected.
Water logging may take place in low lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area likely. People were advised to avoid movement in affected area and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.
The Met Centre in Bhubaneswar also issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/ thundershower with lightning in some parts of districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Mayurbhanj within next three hours.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike
