Intense Spell Of Rain In Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & 7 Odisha Districts In 3 Hours; Orange Alert By IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning of intense spell of rain and thundershower for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities as well as four districts of Odisha by 8 pm on Sunday.

Issuing an orange alert, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense  spell of rain is likely to affect some districts of  Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Sonepur and Nayagarh within next three  hours.

Water logging in low lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas likely to take place. People have been advised to avoid movement in affected areas and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.

The MeT Centre has also issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning in some parts of the districts of Balangir, Nuapada and Boudh within next three  hours.

People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike
