Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning for Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday.
Moderate to intense rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely in these two cities during the next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes and also during intense spells of rain when there is a possibility of significant reduction in visibility.
Earlier, the weather agency had warned of moderate rain/thundershower with lightning in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 4.20 pm.
In its midday bulletin, the IMD has issued yellow warning of heavy rain along with thunderstorm and lightning for isolated places in Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur till 8.30 am on September 24.
