Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rainfall is likely in parts of interior and north Odisha on January 8 and 9 due to movement of western disturbance over eastern India and also the presence of an upper air trough at 5.8 km above mean sea level, according to the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC), SOA Deemed to be University here.
There was also probability of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and hailstorm in the interior districts during the afternoon and night of January 8, a CEC bulletin said.
The bulletin said a gradual drop in night temperature was anticipated from January 10 for two days as one more western disturbance was likely to affect north western India from January 11. However, day temperature would start rising from January 12.
