Bhubaneswar: A national seminar on financial markets named ‘Investellar’ organised by Sri Sri University in association with National Stock Exchange Academy (academic wing of National Stock Exchange Ltd.) was held on Saturday in Bhubaneswar. It underlined the importance of ethics in financial market.
The event started with the address of President of Sri Sri University Rajita Bagga, which was facilitated through a video call where shehighlighted the importance of ethics in financial market. She provided
a brief outlook on the financial crisis of 2008 and mentioned that one of its underlying causes was due to unmanaged stress like overwork, peer pressure, and over ambitious nature of the senior managers in the
industry.
“Ethics should be the basis of our work and one’s success will be determined by how ethical they are”, Bagga said.
Speaking on the occasion, MD, India Internal Audit Head, JP Morgan & Chase, Mumbai Himanshu Shah also echoed the importance of ethics in financial markets and highlighted the importance of financial education and awareness, which needs to be carried out by the
regulators of the country.
Ted x speakers Harsh Goela and Aditya Goela encouraged students to start investing as they are at a perfect age where they can grow their wealth and retire comfortably in the future.
Around 200 Students of over fifteen academic institutions from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar attended the seminar.
