Sharjah: Sanju Samson, Steven Smith and Jofra Archer hit 17 sixes between them as Rajasthan Royals opened their IPL 2020 campaign with a 16-run win over Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah on Tuesday.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 216 for seven with Sanju Samson (74) and Steve Smith (69) excelling with the bat. In reply, Chennai Super Kings could only manage 200 for six with Faf du Plessis hitting 72.
Samson was adjudged the Man of the Match.
