IPL Betting Racket Busted In Odisha’s Puri; 5 Held

Rourkela: Five persons were arrested by the police for allegedly running a betting racket during IPL matches in Odisha’s Puri town.

Acting on reliable information about the betting, a police team conducted raid on a house in Baliapanda area of the town on Wednesday night.

The police team managed to catch hold of five persons while they were trying to escape from the place. The accused persons were stated to be from Chhattisgarh.

The police have seized one LED TV, a sound system, four mobile phones, a register, some cash and other electronic gadgets from their possession, city DSP Prashant Kumar Sahu told reporters.

The accused persons were caught while running the betting racket and further investigation is in progress, he said.
