Iranian President’s Daughter Explores PM Museum, National Crafts Bazaar In Delhi
New Delhi: Zahra Pezeshkian, daughter of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, spent Saturday touring the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and the BRICS Bazaar in the capital, taking in India’s democratic history and cultural traditions on the opening day of the two-day BRICS summit at Bharat Mandapam, PTI reported.
While heads of state deliberated on emerging economies and the Global South at the summit, some of their relatives opted to step outside the diplomatic circuit and explore the city.
Museum Walk Under Tight Security
Zahra Pezeshkian visited the Prime Ministers’ Museum under heavy security cover and later stopped at the BRICS Bazaar housed at the National Crafts Museum, next to the summit venue. Philippine First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, who is in Delhi with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., also toured the museum located in the Teen Murti Bhawan complex, it is learnt.
“Zahra Pezeshkian, daughter of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi. She explored the museum showcasing the journeys, contributions and legacies of India’s Prime Ministers,” the Iranian Embassy in India posted on X, along with a video of her visit.
Minister Welcomes Guest
Following her museum tour, Zahra Pezeshkian visited the BRICS Bazaar, where Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi received her.
After the visit, Annpurna Devi wrote on X: “It was a pleasure to welcome Ms. Zahra Pezeshkian, daughter of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to the #BRICSBazaar at the National Crafts Museum, New Delhi.” “Had the opportunity to show them around the Bazaar and share the rich traditions, art, crafts and cultural heritage showcased by BRICS member and partner nations,” the minister said.
The bazaar features crafts from BRICS nations, from Brazilian clay art to Belarusian willow weaving, celebrating the group’s cultural heritage and creativity.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and other leaders are attending the September 12–13 summit.
