Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high after the irate locals of Dumduma in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday removed the barricades in the area which was declared as containment zone.
According to reports, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had declared some localities in Dumduma area as containment zone on June 20 for seven days after six residents of Subash Nagar slum tested positive for COVID-19.
The locals alleged that though the BMC had assured of providing essential items to them, it has failed to do so. As a result, they find it tough to meet the basic needs in daily life.
Protesting the inaction of the municipal administration, the irate locals removed the barricades.
