Balasore: Villagers detained two officers of Karnataka police, who had come to arrested an accused at Talkurunia in Balasore district.
On being informed, local police reached the spot and rescued the cops.
According to sources, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from Keji Hilly area in Karnataka some days ago. The Karnataka police reached Talakurunia village with the help of mobile tracking to arrest the accused.
They detained a youth, who was allegedly involved in the case and told him to come nearest police outpost for interrogation.
But the irate villagers detained the Karnataka policemen. On being informed, Gopalpur police reached the spot and pacified the situation.
