Joda: A speeding trailer, carrying iron ore, overturned near Ranasala ghat overbridge in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday, killing a 25-year-old youth and grievously injuring a schoolgirl.
The youth was identified as Abhishek Gupta of Rourkela. He worked in a transport company in Joda area.
The schoolgirl, Shruti Krishna of St Mary School in Barbil, is undergoing treatment at Tata Steel Hospital in Joda.
Gupta and the schoolgirl were standing on the road when the trailer overturned. Some parked bikes were also damaged in the accident.
Police have seized the trailer but the driver managed to escape.
