Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood emerged as a real-life hero with his admirable philanthropic work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He was a messiah for hundreds of migrant workers, whom he helped return to their native places amidst the countrywide lockdown. He also arranged food and other essential items for the needy.
He was the go-to man for anyone in distress as he launched a toll-free number, and arranged special buses and flights for stranded people.
But all that seems distant history, after he shared a video on social media where he is seen sitting precariously next to an open door of a moving train, holding on to the hand-rail.
Even as it garnered lakh of views, social media users and even Government Railway Police slammed Sonu for posting the dangerous and irresponsible video, and lectured him suitably.
“@SonuSood travelling on the footboard may be a source of ‘Entertainment’ in movies, not real life! Let’s follow all safety guidelines and ensure a ‘Happy New Year’ for all,” tweeted GRP Mumbai, the official handle of Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate.
Sonu’s post wasn’t appreciated by his followers either.
“Being a role model for many across the country, you should NOT post or encourage such videos,” wrote one user.
“One should think twice before putting up such stuff online. Bad provocation,” responded another person.
