Is Ajay Devgn Set To Replace Anup Soni As ‘Crime Patrol’ Host?

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn is reportedly set to step in as the host of the popular crime series ‘Crime Patrol’.

According to a source close to the development, the actor has already filmed 15 episodes of the show.

The source further revealed that a decision on whether Ajay will continue hosting the remaining episodes will depend on audience response and the show’s TRPs.

“Ajay Devgn has currently shot for 15 episodes. Whether he will continue with the rest of the series depends upon the audience’s reaction and the numbers,” the source was quoted as saying by IANS.

The source also revealed that actor Rajesh Tailang will host a few episodes of the upcoming season. However, the number of episodes he will host has not yet been finalised and will depend on how audiences respond to Ajay’s stint.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Ajay shared a cryptic video on social media, teasing an announcement that he hinted would leave fans stunned. However, the actor did not indicate whether the announcement was related to ‘Crime Patrol’.

“Sometimes, there are things that bother us from the inside. And today, there is a truth before us that I am stunned by. I will bring it to you soon,” Ajay said in the video.

Ajay’s reported association with ‘Crime Patrol’ could mark a new phase for the long-running crime series.

Anup Soni, who hosted the show for several seasons, has long been regarded as one of its most recognisable faces and became closely associated with its distinctive presentation style.

Ajay, meanwhile, has frequently portrayed police officers and law-enforcement characters on screen, with films such as ‘Gangaajal’, ‘Singham’ and ‘Drishyam’ among his notable works.

His reported stint on the crime series could bring a different star presence to the format.
