Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s return to the Paris Fashion Week runway has sparked a wave of reactions online.
While the actress received praise for her appearance and confidence, some social-media users focused on her body, with trolls questioning if she was pregnant and even suggesting that she try Ozempic.
Aishwarya walked for L’Oréal Paris alongside international stars including Kendall Jenner, Celine Dion, Simone Ashley, Eva Longoria and Cara Delevingne.
She attended L’Oréal Paris’ Le Défilé at Place Joffre on September 28, with the Eiffel Tower providing a stunning backdrop for the event.
Videos of her runway appearance quickly went viral, with many fans applauding her presence.
However, the comments section also saw several unsolicited remarks about her weight and appearance.
Some users commented on her stomach, referred to it as a “paunch” and questioned why she had not “lost the weight”, while others suggested Ozempic.
For the event, Aishwarya opted for a dramatic black velvet ensemble paired with a tiara.
Her red hair and bold red lip completed the regal look as she walked alongside Kendall Jenner and Simone Ashley. Celine Dion also joined the show.
The star-studded event featured several L’Oréal Paris ambassadors and global personalities, including Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria, Cara Delevingne and Andie MacDowell.
Interestingly, this year’s L’Oréal Paris show is titled ‘Express Your Worth’ and centres on themes of women’s confidence, individuality, diversity and inclusion.
Despite the message, videos of Aishwarya’s walk attracted a section of users who resorted to body-shaming and personal comments.
One user asked, “Is she pregnant?” while others made derogatory remarks about her body, including calling her “Moti bhens” and comparing her to Fiona from Shrek.
Another user criticised her outfit, writing, “What horror is she wearing,” while someone else questioned whether there was “no other model” for the show.
One particularly harsh comment read, “My God she needs Ozempic,” while another mocked Aishwarya’s appearance and criticised her hair and makeup.
Aishwarya has been associated with L’Oréal Paris for several years and has represented the beauty brand at numerous high-profile international events.
