Bhubaneswar: The BJP has unleashed a campaign blitzkrieg with its top national leaders visiting Odisha ahead of the second-round elections in Bargarh, Sundargarh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Aska Lok Sabha and 35 Vidhan Sabha seats with BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik contesting from two seats here.
Responding to the CM’s ‘day dreaming’ jab, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, said that Naveen is talking about transformation when he cannot even find an Odia to hold his mic. “The Chief Minister of a state can’t even hold the mic himself and this responsibility is also not assigned to any Odia. Aren’t you feeling sad that this simple task is also not for the Odias?” he asked reporters in a veiled attack on V K Pandian who is often seen holding a mic for the CM during the elections rallies.
The Assam CM said that it is evident that Odisha is looking for a change. “Whatsoever the ‘gathbandhan’ maybe forms the government in Odisha, we cannot give the mic to someone else,” he said continuing to critique the Odisha CM and Pandian while attending the Prabuddh Nagarik Sammelan in Bhubaneswar.
The BJD is yet to react to his statement.
