New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan was an extremely private person in the early years of his career and kept his private life a guarded secret until his divorce from Reena Dutta and subsequent marriage with Kiran Rao. Post his second failed marriage and subsequent divorce, Aamir has almost been like an open book. In fact, in his recent interviews, he has been quite vocal about his life and relationships and has been making more public appearances. He even appeared on comedian Kapil Sharma’s show, something which he had not done in years.
Recently, the actor spoke about the possibility of getting married for the third time.
While speaking to Rhea Chakraborty on her talk show, Chapter 2, Aamir refused to give her marriage advice, saying, “I have had two unsuccessful marriages, so don’t ask for marriage advice from me.” Aamir believes a marriage’s success varies from person to person.
When Rhea asked if he plans to marry again, Aamir said, “I am 59 now, where will I get married again, mushkil lag raha hai (looks difficult). I have so many relationships in my life right now, I have reconnected with my family, my kids, and my siblings. I am very happy just being with people who are close to me. I am working towards being a better person.”
Aamir added that not just personally, he has also begun “Chapter 2” of his professional life. The actor’s last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, bombed at the box office, leading him to take a hiatus from work and spend time with his family.
However, during the interview, Aamir also mentioned that he cannot be a loner in life. “I don’t like living alone,” said Aamir. “I need a partner. I am not a loner; I like companionship. I am very close to both my ex-wives Reena and Kiran; we are like one family. Life is unpredictable, so how can we trust it?”
On the career front, Aamir Khan is currently working on his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. It is being directed by RS Prasanna. Apart from Aamir, the film also stars Genelia D’Souza and Darsheel Safary.
“This film will make you laugh; it will entertain you. But the theme is the same (as Taare Zameen Par), that’s why we kept this name very thoughtfully. We all have flaws, we all have weaknesses, but we all also have something special, so we are taking forward this theme,” Aamir said about Sitaare Zameen Par at an event while announcing the film.
It may be recalled that in Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary played the role of Ishaan Awasthi, who suffered from dyslexia.
