Cuttack: Visitors to this year’s Bali Jatra will no longer have to walk and get tired. They can now use cycles and enjoy the jatra.
The service is free of cost. People can park their vehicles in the parking lot and take a cycle from there to the ground. As many as 500 cycles have been arranged, informed Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chaini.
They have brought from Capital Region Urban Transport in Bhubaneswar. The cycles will have a GPRS system to safeguard them against theft, he added.
‘Mo Cuttack Bali Jatra Rickshaw’ programme will also be started in Bali Jatra this year. The district administration will give training to rickshaw pullers to ride for the purpose. They will be provided with uniforms and an i-card. The rickshaws will be available near the ground all time.
