Bambolim (Goa): Odisha FC came up short again, losing 0-1 to FC Goa in an ISL-7 fixture at GMC Stadium here on Saturday evening.
Igor Angulo scored the matchwinner in first-half stoppage time, effecting a brilliant angular finish off a sumptuous cutback from the left flank by Alexander Jesuraj.
Angulo’s fifth goal of the season – out of six scored by Goa – took the Spanish striker to the top of scorer’s chart jointly with Nerijus Valskis of Jamshedpur FC.
Goa dominated proceedings and had more of the possession, as well as chances. But Odisha FC fought all the way and stayed in the hunt for a precious point.
Goa denied them the equaliser, as Odisha FC suffered their third solitary-goal defeat to stay put in 10th spot with 1 point from 5 matches.
FC Goa, with 8 points, moved up to fourth place.
