Bambolim (Goa): A change in coach failed to revive Odisha FC’s fortunes in ISL-7 as they went down 1-4 to ATK Mohun Bagan at GMC Stadium on Saturday evening.
Playing their first match under Gerald Peyton – who was named interim head coach after Stuart Baxter’s contract was terminated for making derogatory comments on refereeing – Odisha FC went into half-time with honours even.
But they conceded three goals in the second half to suffer their ninth defeat in 15 matches. With 8 points, Odisha continue to be rooted to the bottom of the 11-team table.
Manvir Singh scored a brilliant goal in the 11th minute to give ATK Mohun Bagan the lead. Cole Alexander brought Odisha FC level with a fine finish just before half-time.
Manvir restored ATK Mohun Bagan’s lead nine minutes after the change of ends, while Roy Krishna scored two goals in the final seven minutes to complete another miserable night for Odisha FC.
