Bambolim (Goa): Odisha FC did not get the start they had hoped for in the seventh edition of Indian Super League (ISL), as they lost 0-1 to Hyderabad FC at Bambolim on Monday evening.
Aridane Santana’s goal separated the two sides. The Spaniard, making his debut in the ISL, scored from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after Halicharan Narzary’s shot hit the outstretched hand of Odisha skipper and experienced defender Steven Taylor inside the penalty box.
Hyderabad dominated proceedings and created a number of chances against the youthful Odisha FC side, but failed to add to the tally.
It was the first clean sheet for Hyderabad FC, who made their maiden ISL appearance last season.
