Bhubaneswar: It was a frustrating night for Odisha FC on their home turf at Fortress Kalinga Stadium here on Friday night.
Desperate for full points to boost their chances of playoff qualification, the Kalinga Warriors had to settle for a 0-0 result against Mohammedan Sporting.
The draw against the bottom-ranked team left Odisha almost on the verge of elimination from the playoff race.
With 30 points from 23 games, Odisha remained in seventh spot. They will need some kind of a miracle now to finish among the top 6 and progress to the knockout phase.
Even if Odisha FC win their final league game against Jamshedpur FC in Jamshedpur on March 5, they will finish with 33 points without any guarantee of playoff qualification. Odisha FC will then need NorthEast United (32 points from 22 matches) and Mumbai City FC (32 from 21) to falter in their last few games.
