Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC’s pedestrian ISL season continued on Friday evening as they failed to pick up full points against bottom-of-the-table Mohammedan Sporting Club, that too at their home ground Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha failed to hold on to their first-half lead, settling for a 1-1 stalemate with the visitors from Kolkata.
VP Suhair handed
Odisha the advantage in the 40th minute, scoring from a Lalrinfela assist.
Seventeen minutes into the second session, MSC got back on level terms as Thokchom Adison Singh latched on to a Hira Mondal pass to find the back of Odisha’s net.
It was the third draw of the season for Odisha, who have won just one game out of seven thus far.
The home fans would have hoped to witness victory against a team which had lost all their seven previous fixtures. But the Kalinga Stadium crowd had to return home disappointed as Mohammedan SC pocketed their first point.
Odisha FC took their tally to six points, but remained in 12th place in the 14-team standings.
Odisha’s next match is against Kerala Blasters, at Kochi’s Nehru Stadium on April 23.
