Kolkata: Odisha FC were no match for defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant, going down 1-5 in an ISL clash at Salt Lake Stadium on Friday evening.
Australian striker Jamie Maclaren singlehandedly demolished Odisha FC, scoring
four goals as he registered his first hat-trick in ISL.
Spanish defender Alberto Rodriguez netted Mohun Bagan’s other goal, while Rahim Ali was Odisha’s lone scorer.
Rahim scored after Odisha grabbed a 3-0 lead. Changing ends with a 4-1 cushion, Mohun Bagan added one more in the second session to complete Odisha FC’s agony.
Mohun Bagan stayed atop the standings with 12 points from 4 matches, while Odisha FC suffered their first defeat after having started the season with two home draws, at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha FC will next take on Sporting Club Delhi at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Stadium, on March 13.
