Israel Won’t Last Long, Says Supreme Leader Khamenei In Friday Sermon; Iran Military Issues Warning

New Delhi: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in his first public sermon in five years, said Israel “won’t last long”.

A gun kept by his side, Iran’s revered leader backed the Palestinian and Lebanese movements against Israel and declared that the Benjamin Netanyahu-led country won’t prevail against Hamas or Hezbollah amid chants of “we are with you” from the massive in the vast mosque grounds.

“The brilliant work of our armed forces was completely legal and legitimate. The Lebanese defense of the people of Gaza is also a legitimate and legal movement,” Khamenei said.

He added that the enemies of Iran are the same as enemies of Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt and other Islamic nations, and urged all Islamic countries to reinforce their defence to ensure their independence.

The rare sermon by the Iranian leader comes three days before the first anniversary of Hamas’ attack on Israel, which led to retaliation and war in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iranian military issued warnings that an attack on its energy infrastructure could take the world back to the bicycle era.

“If our energy infrastructures are threatened in any way or form, the world will return to the era when bicycles were the fastest mode of transportation!” Iran Military said in a post on X on Friday.

Did Iran Target Mossad Headquarters?

Iranian state media claimed that its missile attacks targeted two military bases of Israel and the headquarters of Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service.

Israel had earlier claimed that most of the missiles fired by Iran three days ago were intercepted.

Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, said in an interview with Press TV that the Nevatim air base, the Netzarim military facility, and the Tel Nof intelligence unit were targeted in the recent attack known as ‘Operation True Promise II.’

According to a report by the Tehran Times, the Nevatim air base is home to Israel’s F-35 fighter jets, which reportedly carried out airstrikes on Beirut on September 27, launching from this military installation.

The Iran military used hypersonic Fatah missiles to strike these sites, Iranian media stated.
