Bhubaneswar: After the BJP presser over the ‘last’ audio clip of Zilla Parishad member Dharmendra Sahoo, Chhatra Congress members hurled eggs and tomatoes at the official residence of Minister Samir Ranjan Dash in Odisha capital for his alleged role in abetting the death by suicide of the BJD leader.

In the purported telephonic conversation between Sahoo and a journalist, Akhaya Nayak, the former listed out names of seven persons, including his wife, father-in-law and the Minister, as the reason behind his decision to end his life.

They arrived at the Minister’s residence on motorcycles and demanded his sacking from the cabinet and immediate arrest. Accusing the Chief Minister of protecting Dash in the case, they also threatened to gherao Naveen Niwas here if their demands are not met within seven days

The agitators were later taken into custody following a scuffle with police while attempting to barge into Dash’s house.

Sahoo was found hanging at his residence at Sisupalgarh in the city on September 24.
