Italy-Returned Odisha Engineer Admitted To SCB For Suspected COVID-19

Cuttack: An Odisha Engineer, who recently returned to the state from Italy, was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital here for suspected Coronavirus infection on Saturday.

The engineer has been kept in the isolation ward. The hospital will be sending his blood samples to RMRC, Bhubaneswar for further tests on Sunday.

The patient is a resident of Cuttack and had been to Italy for research work.

After returning to his hometown on March 2, he suffered from cough and cold. He immediately went to SCB Hospital for a checkup.

According to a Health Department official, two persons with suspected Coronavirus symptoms have been admitted to the SCB Hospital here. Among the two, one tested negative and the other has been kept under observation till March 18.
